Anger. Letting Go of it?

How do you get rid of anger, or let go of it? It isn't as simple as saying "I shouldn't be angry, so now I'm not."

Is there some sort of process?

BTW, this is about my doctors, who I feel have yanked me around and messed me up and charged us lots of money for the privilege of being made worse than when I came in. I just wanted a birth control that didn't have unpleasant side effects. All of them have unpleasant side effects, though, and I have just traded bad for worse and don't know what to do next. I don't even want to go back to complain because I don't believe what they tell me anymore. I'm angry at them and myself for believing anything they said and even a little bit at my Master. I'm just angry all over. "A little irregular spotting" does not mean, in my mind "bleed continuously for the next three months."

  1. If this is related to the shot, the same thing happened to my cousin. I wish you luck in finding something that works for you guys/your body.

    1. Why did you have to have the Mirena removed, if you don't mind sharing?

    2. I had the mirena removed because we wanted to try for another baby, and also the strings were kind of pokey the only thing i could compare it to is very thin fishing line and my husband could feel it but my dr said it should soften up after sometime so i gave it a yr and then had to get rid of it as my husband wasnt pleased with being poked lol

  4. I have had the Mirena for a year now. I had a 'regular' period each month for the first nine months or so and now it has tapered off. I still have some mood issues and bleed a bit, but it's gotten a lot better. I had a lot of issues with the shots and never tried the patches. Before I had kids I use the NuvaRing and loved it. It had enough hormones to regulate my mood and ovarian cysts, but I didn't have to fuss with a pill each day.

Honestly, cost was the only factor I had in trying the Mirena over going back to the NuvaRing. We know we are done having kids, but I still need the hormones to manage my PMDD.

Hope you find something that works for you. I know about the anger at doctors who don't listen.

    Hugs,
    Rye

  5. I've got the copper IUD, Paragard, and I couldn't be happier with it. I've had it for 3+ years now, I think- with no problems. I couldn't have hormone-related birth control due to having had a DVT (bad blood clot) in the past, and condoms just weren't cutting it, so I read up on options and talked to my Gyn Dr. and she suggested the Essure permanant birth control (insert coils into your tubes, scars 'em over), or the Paragard. I went with the less permanent option, not because I think I will ever have more kids (at 45, I'm so done with that LOL) but because it seemed safer/easier.

It hurt getting inserted, but not as bad as I'd seen others say- and Advil and rest fixed me up to pretty much normal the next day, was just tender and took it easy a few days after. They do say your period could be worse on it- more and longer, especially the first few months, but I didn't see that myself. My periods were normal and then tapered off entirely (might be in perimenopause, though- not sure, seeing my dr. Friday bout that). But I'm pretty happy with the Paragard, myself- no problems on it, don't have to worry about birth control for 10 years, and was covered by my insurance.

Sucks that you're having such a hard time- hope you find something that works for you!

    1. I guess this is why it is so hard to find something- everyone is different. I have the paraguard now and still was having trouble with extra heavy and long periods after having it for 3 years. Of course, that was not as bad as the period that never ends. :(

    2. Aww, damn- sorry you're having the heavy period trouble with the Paragard. I must have lucked out on that part.

I was going to suggest asking about the Essure thing, but just did a quick check to see what the latest research is on it and after reading this: http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/24/health/fda-essure-contraceptive/ I can't really recommend it. I hope you find a new gyn who's better to work with and can help you find something that works and doesn't have you with The Neverending Period.
